Groups in Belgium, the UK, and Austria protested against Operation Kagar in India, coinciding with the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee meeting on January 27 and a visit by European Commission and Council officials to India from January 25–27.
The International Committee to Support the People’s War in India (ICSPWI) led protests at the European Parliament and the Indian Embassy in Belgium, urging the European Commission to condemn the Modi regime's violent repression and killings, particularly targeting Adivasi (indigenous people) since the operation’s launch in January 2024.
Operation Kagar has involved 60,000 military and paramilitary forces using advanced equipment, leading to numerous human rights violations. It aims to eliminate the Communist Party of India (Maoist) by March 2026, clearing the way for large mining corporations to exploit the region’s resources and ancestral lands.
The NDFP International Office expressed solidarity, emphasizing that counterinsurgency measures cannot defeat revolutionary movements and called for support of the Indian people's struggle for liberation.
